With a focus on growth, affordability, and performance,

Overview #2

MA is the fastest growing health insurance product in the US, and is expected to accelerate over the next 5 to 10 years.  Sixty million Americans are currently enrolled in Medicare. Of those, 3.8 million are new enrollees. Thirty-Six percent are in the Medicare Advantage program.

Overview #3

  • Age-Ins (Age 65). Approximately 10,000 are aging into Medicare every calendar day. The average national market share of MA in this segment is currently approaching 35%, with the percentage expecting to increase to 50% by 2025.
  • Existing MA Lives (HMO, Regional PPO, and PPO). This is a mature and competitive channel, but continues to present major opportunities as the Big 3 healthplans continue to consolidate this burgeoning market.
  • ACO Attrition or Migration to MA. Medicare FFS beneficiaries that opt out of FFS and Medicare Supplement and enroll in Medicare Part C (MA).
  • MA Series 800 (Large Group Retiree). Municipalities and States, in particular, are increasingly looking at offloading their retiree health benefit liability to the MA Plans. This alone has the potential increase of MA market share growth by 1 to 2 percentage points each year.
